Foolish, foolish, foolish judgment calls

You know, that sometimes it seems people simply will not learn until they have lost every person and everything that matters in their life.  Self destruct?  Selfish delusion? Simple and absolute stupidity?  Whatever the answer may happen to be, it seems like everybody else gets hurt trying to make things right when the person at the center of the problem goes merrily on their way, skipping down their own yellow brick road of self indulgence.
